David Lonsdale

David Lonsdale taught Christian spirituality at postgraduate and doctoral levels for more than twenty-five years at Heythrop College, University of London, before retiring in 2012. He was also co-editor of The Way journal between 1984 and 1995 and is currently interested in links between literature and religious faith and practice. His books on Ignatian spirituality have been translated into several languages, including Vietnamese. His publications include Listening to the Music of the Spirit: The Art of Discernment (Notre Dame Ind.: Ave Maria Press 1993) and Eyes to See, Ears to Hear: An Introduction to Ignatian Spirituality (Darton Longman & Todd, 2000). He has co-edited Poetry and the Religious Imagination (Ashgate 2015) of the Power of the Word Series.
